The book is a good starter for readers who want to understand heavy and relevant topics such as drug addiction, unjust killings, and strained family dynamics. It also tapped into the Filipino mythology, which I liked. It is really apt for kids in the grade range of 5th to 7th.
There were some elements in the story though that made me question about the way they were written, and they would need more context for explanation. But overall, it indeed is a good read.
