Hanna having to survive living with her toxic dad, stepmom, and a nightmare of a stepsister.  Not to mention everything happening with her (toxic) relationship with Lucas.  And not to mention her ED coming back full swing.

Emily getting a job as the mall Santa to catch the elves causing pranks, only it doesn’t go as planned and her family situation gets worse before it gets better.  Making friends with the elves in the end even if she fought hard not to play the role of a nark.

Aria having more boy problems in the most dramatic way… like dude how did this even happen?  Not wanting to share a hotel room Aria goes home and skips the winter solstice trip with her family, all is well until an ex-boyfriend from Iceland shows up and she falls into her naïve boy problems.

Spencer making vacation a nightmare as her parents become more hateful towards her.  Though this is the start of her and Melissa being on better terms… at least by the end of the book.
