I mean. It wasn’t NOT good.
Is it insane that I started skimming through the nutso god sex for the plot parts? That’s like watching glee but skipping the songs

It was a fun romp, I just wish we'd actually gotten that final scene....

I was intrigued enough by Jack and Lily to want to read more about them. This was surprisingly very long, which ended up being kind of a bad thing. The story dives into the world a lot more and we are introduced to the different Old Gods and their kids. Lily's different tasks/trials got repetitive (we get it - you will do anything and anyone, but you love Jack) and I found myself skimming here and there. The author has a handy table of contents though if you want to skip those parts entirely and get to the sexy bits. Lots of fun times are had and fluids (so many different fluids) are exchanged, but I still can't figure out why every single person they encountered wanted to have sex with Lily and/or Jack. All the characters are consenting and active participants though, so who am I to yuck on their yum? After all the sexy times and different couplings, I was surprised that the author teased/faded to black a foursome where all the participants (FFMF) would have played. This sexy epilogue for Lily and Jack was overall entertaining, but I'm pretty sure I'm done with the Valley of the Old Gods.
CW's from the author: Dub con (FMC consents, M secondary character thinks she doesn't), explicit unprotected sex with multiple partners, human/non-human sex, pregnancy (not plot relevant)
OW/OM notes: Jack and Lily basically have an open relationship/marriage. They love and are committed to each other, but they have sex with others and/or share partners. If you don't want to see your main characters having sex with anyone else but the other main character, this probably isn't the book for you.
