I've read the whole trilogy. Have to say that while reading the first book I didn't knew what to think, is this a good or a bad book? Even after finishing I didn't knew what to think. To my opinion the first books started out quit slow, the real exciting part of the book was only covering a small part of all the pages.

The same in the second book, the real exciting part took a while to kick in and before I knew I finished the book again. Again wondering if I thought it was a good or bad book?

After finishing the third book I can say that I like the trilogy. The third book is exciting from the start, something that I've missed in the first two. The Hunger Games are an easy read and I've finished all three books in two weeks. I enjoyed the female lead and even it was a story taken place in the future, some fantasy, I could identify with Katniss and her story.

The first time I read these books it took me 4 days.

The second time I read these books it took me 2.5 days.

I am contemplating reading them a third time.

I am SO GLAD I read these after they were all released, because if I'd had to wait for the next one to be published I might have LOST MY DAMN MIND.

All of this means that I'm completely unable to be objective about The Hunger Games trilogy. I am uncomfortably obsessed with them. I haven't fangirled about something this hard since... ever, really. I love everything about them, even the parts I hate - like when [spoiler] dies. Or when [spoiler] dies. OMG how I cried. And cried, and cried.

And when [spoiler] makes Katniss into the [spoiler] without telling her ahead of time? And then [spoiler]? And they don't give her his [spoiler] until she [spoiler]? CHILLS. Goosebumps over my entire body. I just cannot even.

So, sadly, most of this review is completely unhelpful to anyone who might want a reasoned, thoughtful consideration of The Hunger Games. I simply don't have the ability to provide that right now, if ever.

I recommend that you read them and come to your own conclusion. Best I can do.

Reread the whole series. Interestingly enough, Mockingjay used to be my favorite but now I found it somewhat hard to get through. The first one, however, was as exciting as ever and difficult to put down. There's just something about stories of survival (esp. in the wilderness) that I really like, despite the occasional sillyness.

The books are as good as the originals, but there's nothing really "special" about them. A few extra sentences here and there, but no new content was added. Disappointed that I wasted money expecting more from them.
