Not only can Poirot solve a recent crime, but he can solve one sixteen years later! I liked how he knew how to behave with each person, making him or her feel comfortable enough to share what they saw and believed.

I really enjoyed this cold case, which felt very different to the other Poirot stories I’ve read recently, as he reconstructs the events from 16 years ago. The ending was chilling, and again felt different from Poirot’s usual triumphant narration of the case as he pins down the murderer.

A case which was shut 16 years ago is opened again and detective Hercule Poirot is on a mission to find the truth and the real murderer out of 5 suspects!

Damn! What a good mystery this book was!! A cleverly written murder mystery ❤ I liked how Christie explained the same incident and opinions about the same people in 5 different ways. Reading this book needed a lot of patience as the same incidents were discussed again and again but it was totally worth reading those in a different point of views. The conclusion part was really awesome. The way in which Poirot examined each and every detail and questioned every happening written by the suspects in their letters to reach the real truth was truly exciting. Also, the connection of the story with a nursery rhyme called Five Little Pigs was another interesting part of the story.

Reading this book was really an amazing experience. I am glad that my inferences were not totally wrong. I had two suspects out of which I suspected one strongly but sadly the one which I suspected strongly was not the real murderer but the other one was!

Happy reading
