On a surface level, it was certainly laugh out loud funny at points but underneath David Sedaris’ eye for a story it feels like the way he spins his observations in to anecdotes betrays something darker. This is certainly true of all the funniest people I know in real life and I’m keen to read more of his memoirs and build up a bigger picture.
Graphic: Homophobia and Forced institutionalization
Minor: Animal death
