"Finny?", "OH Autumn" my mother says, the smallest chapter in the book and it sent me in hysterics. My heart is shattered at the thought of losing your one true love within hours of declaring your love for them. I still have a lump in my throat.

The book was overall a very sweet and nostalgic read, made me think of the way I used to be as a kid, I was very much like Autumn when I was younger, i felt like her and I was exactly like her, standing out without trying to stand out. I felt embarrassed for her with her wearing a tiara and I remembered that, that is exactly what I did, which is probably why I felt this way, she found herself in Finny and my heart just shattered at the end!!!

This book was so good it threw me into a reading slump for a few days because nothing could amount to this level. I love stories that let’s us grow up with the characters, it’s gives you a deeper connection. I loved the boy Finny, he was very sweet which made the ending even worse. From chapter one we now what happens at the end but we don’t know how, and the end reveal was more crushing then I expected. Loved it and loved how the author realistically wrote teenagers. Plus, points for the main character Autumn who has a passion for writing & wants to major in it just like I do.

I’m not a fan of YA books and hardly ever chose them to read. However, I kept hearing about this story and then was gifted this book by a friend. At first I struggled to get into the writing style but after several chapters I was hooked. I was instantly taken back to middle/high school and felt like I was watching this love story unfold from a fellow students pov. I will say knowing how it was going to end did soften the blow and I’m not sure if I liked that it was reveled right at the beginning of the story. Also, the mental struggles for both the main character and her mother were great representation on how a teenager would view and have to cope with the emotions and feelings.
Loved the short chapters and the tragic story line. It was rather predictable for me but I would definitely recommend this if you are a YA fan or just need a break from adult fiction.
