I had seen many tik toks about this book so I had high expectations. I kinda already had an idea of how it ended going into it. However I felt the last 50 ish pages of the book felt extremely rushed, whereas the rest of the book dragged on. It took me soooooo long to get through the first half of the book because of how slow it was. If the bookβs pace was a lot faster, I probably wouldβve given it 5 stars. For people who love tragedies (me.) At least 7 chapters of my least favorite boyfriend could have been cut (skipped). I hate suprise pregnancy tropes chapter 81 made it all worth it

This was a reread for me before I read the sequel. I liked the audiobook and the narrator they chose, since she has a younger voice. It was less depressing to read this time around bc I knew the story.

Takes you right back to hsπ₯² a personally hard read because of this. -1 βοΈ because itβs a sad beginning, first 2/3, and end, and bc of a trope I donβt like that popped up at the end. I would catch myself feeling hopeful for FMC and have to keep reminding myself she doesnβt get a HEA. Would reread, ready to get wrecked by the sequel.

Thoughts: βIf He Had Been With Meβ is a βteen romance/coming-of-ageβ novel. I devoured this one in less than 24 hours after a bit of a reading slump and a draining few weeks, so thank you, Laura, for helping me out of my slump. I really enjoyed this book. It covers lots of teenage issues such as love, friendship, family, and mental health. The story starts with the ending, so we were all doomed from the start knowing it was going to be a tearjerker. Despite already knowing the ending, I still thoroughly enjoyed this book. I really enjoyed the flashback memories of Autumn and Finn growing up together. This one had me in tears multiple times, but Iβm so glad I read it and cannot wait to read βIf Only I Had Herβ.

Wasnβt able to put the book down in many parts but honestly it did not live up to its online reputation. I expected it to have me bawling by the end but idk it just left me feeling like βthatβs so sadβ instead of the βI will never get over thisβ statements I saw online. I love this book and will most likely read if only I had told her but it was just a bit underwhelming. I would recommend this book but I wouldnβt go in with expectations TOO high.

I adored this book! I was eating up every interaction between the two main characters, and I was rooting for them even though I knew my heart was going to get broken. Originally I wanted to read this because I had seen multiple tiktoks about how this will make me cry my eyes out-- unfortunately there were no tears here but at this point I'm not even mad π
This was an awesome read!
