let me be honest, i read through four years of autumns life and i couldn’t have been more unaffected. it felt like in those four years, nothing at all happened.

but i was ready to sort of accept all that, when i was hit in the face with BOOM
CHEATING TROPE
(sort of)

BOOM
ACCIDENTAL PREGNANY
(two people! that are in high school!! from their first time!!!)

and i lost it.
you lost me.

the reader knowing the end from the start was supposed to be mysterious and cool, probably, but it didn’t feel like it.
where was the tension?
where was whatever was supposed to make this book interesting?

also, autumns suicide attempt was very uncomfortable for me, and that‘s simply because the whole book had a way of being shallow, and throwing something that serious in there right at the end felt very odd and almost romanticized.

could not conform to this book very much.

Such a slow start just for it to end so tragically. I wish I read this as a teenager instead of a young adult. I feel like it would’ve hit me harder.

So I adored the book. I loved it so much, i started crying in the end.
WHY DID IT HAVE TO BE FINNY 😭
Laura nowlin has a very basic style of writing, however i loved it. Just a small criticism: the plot was way too slow. In my opinion,
the breakup with Jamie should’ve been way earlier than in the last 150 pages or smth
to actually let the relationship between autumn and finny flourish.
The beginning was interesting, but the middle was quite boring, the end took me by surprise tho.
Overall, i loved the book, and i read the second one (if only i had told her) in a day or so. Absolutely adored it. Thank you for blessing me with this masterpiece.

Not sure how or why people would physically cry over the ending, it was okay. It’s teenage love which is not what I had expected going into it. Not a big fan of the writing style, but it did keep me wanting to read more. The story dragged a bit though and was predictable (predictable doesn’t always mean bad). A younger audience would enjoy it more I believe.

What a chaotic ending!!! This was an enjoyable read that I’m sure many can relate to. The characters were sweet and captured those high school thoughts and feelings. There were times I thought there wasn’t much occurring in the plot, and it’s a pretty quick read. Overall great book and a good read if you want a plot twist!
