Cute story. More romance than I expected. Interesting twists. A bit too predictable for me though.

This was a delightful and unique story of love, heartbreak, bargains, and humanity. It is well written and clever. I couldn’t put it down.

I absolutely adored this book and I know it will stay with me for a long time. The prose was absolutely beautiful and I couldn't read without a pen close by to mark passages I loved. Addie is, truly, an unforgettable character.

I saw some criticisms about this book not being historical enough, or adventurous enough, or romantic enough - for me personally, I liked that it only dipped into those genres a bit. It spans history but isn't a histocial. It's romantic without being a romance.  Ultimately, this is a story about relationships, connection, art - and how all are vital to life. It's firmly Addie's story, and the other main characters are mostly there to give us context about her.

I know I'll be reading this story again and can't wait to find more to love about it.

I'd love to see the arc of the story come to a close.  I understand why the author wanted to end where she did, but it felt unfinished to me.  The magic within the book also was a bit uneven, so I found there were too many times that I had to stop thinking about ways to get around the constraints and get back to focusing on the story.

Writing is phenomenal, great use of figurative language and descriptors, interesting themes about death and making the kost of life, interesting premise.

I kind of hate the characters. I hate Luke. I kind of hate Addie because she seems somewhat inhuman at the end.

I like my stories more free and happy go lucky and this book is dark in a way that doesn't have a silver lining unfortunately.

I fucking hate that she ends up eith the abusive ex boyfriend. Fuck Luke he's such an asshole and fuck him for ruining her life. He just wants to torture her.
