I enjoyed this story. The fairytale elements were fun and well incorporated into the story. I liked the exploration of gender and found Calla to be an interesting take on the MC.

The ending was rushed and I am intrigued enough to read the next book, but I don't really know what threads are left for us to address as the major points have mostly been wrapped up.

This book falls into a common category of modern romantasy for me, which is books that are written/plotted/character developed like YA books that are a little too young for me but then have mature sex scenes. Appreciate the gender diversity.

This book tried to do too much which made it feel underdeveloped to me. I wish the author had fleshed out some of the characters and the plot a bit more. I will be reading the next one though.

I have never been both so happy and sad at the end of a book. I had full body goosebumps the last few chapters! The story was wrapped up so well at the end, and I can’t wait for the second to be released! I loved the story of Calla, Grey and the troupe of Galen den’ Mora as they broke down stigma, social constructs and gender stereotypes all while making the world more beautiful with their songs. The progress of finding Calla’s true being was tender and completely relatable for someone who’s been down similar paths of gender and sexual identity.

audiobook (Audible) - love a good wolf fated mates story mixed within a Sleeping Beauty retelling. The fated mates status between the mmc and mfm was super easy to determine from their first interaction because the mmc knew it from the start. The mfm goes through a lot of growth and finds themselves throughout the story and most of it revolves around determining who they are and what they want. The build-up to the final scene makes it seem like the villain is all-powerful and would need to be overrun by multiple attackers at once though the final scene appears to complete super quickly.  I would have loved to see a more drawn-out scene with more characters involved in the direct fight with the villain. It seemed a bit too easy like the end of the book came and someone wanted an easy quick final uncharacteristic fight for the villain.
