I was blown away by the first part of this book. It is absolutely beautiful and I had decided this book was going to be a favorite. However, the second part completely lost the magic. I just could not get through it. Such a disappointment as the beginning was so promising.

All the interconnected moving parts really set up a lovely story. It felt a tad slow to me in parts but overall I loved it.

I <3 TREES

FINALLY read this after meaning for FOUR YEARS! because it was part of my writing/environment class. absolutely loved the experience of reading it, also loved the experience of discussing it in class though that made me see a very different perspective on the book.

definitely recommend to anyone interested in trees, how we connect to nature, and different perspectives of environmental activism.

This book is monumental. 4.5 stars rounded up A massive entanglement of humans trees and mycelium. We are all connected & if we really listen we might but just hear the trees whispering, guiding & teaching. Plants are people too and soon you will see. Poetically woven independent short stories as roots come together into a trunk before they branch out back into many different stories all tied together by their mother tree. This book was super informative and shared so much science of trees that felt like magical. It raises your consciousness and your awareness of the importance of trees and their intelligence, once well known by native people in all lands that has been forgotten. Beautiful & moving story that brings an old respect for trees and Mother Earth back to the forefront.
