TLWR: Buy. Read. Share. You won’t be disappointed.

Generally, I find humor in books to fall rather flat and be full of cringe. Which is why when I read the Amazon sample of “The Zero of Destiny” I got very excited. It is also why when I sat down to read it I set out a set of orange tabs for “Silly/Clever” and a set of yellow for “Cringe.” Without counting I know I used at least 50 orange tabs but not quite 75 (they come in sets of 25) and exactly 0 yellow.

This book is full of both rather silly jokes, clever references, and some very good points. The footnotes are honestly the best part. If you don’t like footnotes well.. you may struggle with this one. But, I promise, they are worth reading.

On top of being amazingly silly, The Zero of Destiny delivers a solid plot with well written characters. Well, the main characters anyway. There are a lot of one-line Goblins, but really, they are goblins. I was genuinely interested in exactly how Death Scream would drag Vic to save the world. More than Interested enough to stay up way too late on a Monday to finish the last 100 pages then stay up another hour to fight with Goodreads (seriously, server stability is not great today) and write this review.

Would I read this again? Yes. Absolutely.

Will I recommend this to everyone I know with a sense of humor? Without a doubt.

Will I read other books by this Author: Very likely. I don’t read a lot of Sci-Fi and T.R. Peer’s other available books are sci-fi/fantasy mashups. However, “The Zero of Destiny” is a damn good book and makes me more than a little curious about his less silly offerings.
