Delightful, gory fun. "Light Sleeper" and "Everyone Else is Asleep" nicely bookend this collection of inventive, character-focused shorts and stand out as two of my favorites with similar themes. But "The Clearing" is undoubtedly the story I enjoyed the most. It's a cinematic blend of suspense, horror, and intrigue that kept me hooked in the entire time. I'll be looking out for the Kickstarter so I can back that one when it's inevitably made into a short film.
On a personal note, it was really cool to see the author include works from his NYC Midnight competition pieces! I recently discovered and entered this contest as well (for short stories, not screenplay) but it was reassuring as a writer to see another accomplished author make something of his work in that competition.
