I think we all know a Greg.

Knocked up by a CEO was a cute and short book. It definitely had a happy ending for these two, Zach and Harper. They sort of has a forbidden relationship, but not really since nobody really cared that the CEO was sleeping with her. Well except for creepy Greg.

It all started with a Christmas party. The sexual tension was there and they both went for it. I can’t really say that they blamed it on the alcohol because it wasn’t. However, their feelings for one another definitely grew pretty fast. They were seeing each other throughout the book until the day she found out she was pregnant. A miracle baby if you will.

It was a cute little twist but it was pretty obvious. The little creepy twist with Greg was weird and thankfully short. Then the book was over and I’m okay with it all. I could probably dive into another book of this series if I need too.

Stumbled into reading this by an add on my kindle and not having anything else I wanted to read. Overall honestly a good plot, some spice, and some twists and turns that I enjoyed! I’ll definitely be reading more of the series.

Every once in awhile I want a steamy book. This one did that without being all about sex. It had some drama, true emotion and great characters.
Zach was this player CEO but we didn’t really see that side of him which I’m happy about. We got to see the protective, falling in love man.

“It’s uncharted territory for me, wanting a woman to stay with me. I can’t explain it, and I don’t understand it, but it’s true. I want her here. I want her beside me, around me, on top of me. I want her sex and her voice and her laugh and her eyes. I want to experience everything about her and learn all there is to learn about her. I want to make her laugh and make her orgasm and then make her laugh again.”

Harper was an incredibly strong, brave, loving women. I really really liked her character. It seems lately I’ve been having a hard time finding a heroine that I enjoyed. Maybe I connected with her through the heartache of infertility. She was just a strong woman. I enjoyed watching the story progress and the drama had me on the edge of my seat for a minute, which was unexpected but enjoyable.

Details

So the timeline kept getting to me like the Party happened two weeks ago and last Friday but it was the same party? She had auburn hair in one chapter and honey brown in another and a couple words were typos which I wouldn't have commented in but it falls in with the consistency and timeline errors as something that should have been edited out.

As far as the story went well I mean I liked it, but most of the stalking happened last year off page. The being told she's barren also off page. And of the time period when they fell in love the reader mostly gets to join them for the sex and not much else so I find love a little difficult to believe. A lot of the things that were told to the reader about events off page should have happened on the page in order to evoke the emotions Monroe wanted us to believe. So I liked it, but it could have been better.

Quick Info
Standalone/Cliffhanger?: Standalone
Part of a Series?: Yes
----------------------------------
Meeting the Characters
Harper
Zach
----------------------------------
What happens?
Harper and Zach get together at a Christmas party and then they decide to ignore what ever it is between them because he is her boss.
Harper is dealing with a stalker, the stalker knows about her and Zach and so tries to keep them separate and to go after them both to do that.
Final thoughts
I just wasn't feeling this. I've put off finishing this book because I got to just past them sleeping together and got bored.
It feels very rushed. I didn't love the writing style and I wasn't bothered about Zach or Harper.
Would I read again?: No
Would I read this author again?: Maybe
Would I continue on with the series?: No

Okay.

I’d say this a shaky 3.5 star read… don’t get me wrong it was a good read but it felt like I was reading a book where the pace was set a fast forward and I didn’t get enough time to properly connect with characters that, if I had connected, would have been amazing.

The plot was good, I liked the whole office romance, instant connection thing and add in the dash of danger with a psycho stalker (not the dark romance kind guys. This is a fluffy read) and you’ve got a nice book. However the whole secret baby thing wasn’t a major part of the story which annoyed me, I picked this book because I wanted the secret baby drama/angst and I didn’t get that, it was like it was an afterthought.

In short I both liked the story and felt let down by it.
