’ve been loving Claire Contreras books recently so thought I would go for another. This one is kind of all over the place. Kind of felt like a mafia soap opera to me.

I love Loren and Cat together but I didn’t really care for much of the rest of it. It was definitely entertaining and at one point I thought I might not finish but instead just read the entire thing in one sitting.

There are a few spelling/ editing errors that bothered me but might not be annoying to anyone else.

I love this author.. This story was really good but very confusing. At chapter 8 I had to go back to the beginning.. I was confused about the teacher. It should have stated that Lorenzo was just a substitute in ch 2 instead of later on. There was just too much going on with too many people for me to give this a better rating.. Pay close attention when you read it. Very rare for me to have to go back and re read something..

This was absolutely awful. The writing was juvenile and needed editing in the worst way. Paragraphs were restated in a slightly different way, one after the other. Characters would have defining speeches that contradicted what they said one paragraph before. The worst one was Vinny: “I wanted to be with you, but she (the mistress) was pregnant.” And then ONE paragraph later: “you were fine, she was… everything.” What? The inconsistencies and miscommunication made this so hard to read. What was her sister doing? The FMC had to go to a class for her sister - pretend to be her - why? The sister was in Boston or Miami the whole time. The sister “wants to expose the seedy underbelly of the mafia and make the bad guys pay” but also thinks that the FMC should ask their mafia dad for money to start a dance line. The MMC was boring and made no sense with any decision he made.

Seriously I had no idea what was happening or why for 90% of this book.

Mafia romance with so many moving parts! I love a mafia romance that has enough going that you feel invested and want to continue reading. Claire provided all that- and then some. It was a very quick enjoyable read.

Great Read

Enjoyable read with an OTT possessive male MC and a dancer FMC. Very little angst, no current cheating and a HEA. Might of been a little predictable.

I read this for our bookclub. I'm not a huge mafia fan because I have a feeling most of them have a similar plot. This one was different. The plot is different and I loved that Catalina was a ballet dancer. I think she wrote the part very realistic. I think the overall plot was okay, but I just missed diving deep into the mafia world. Cat just stopped having contact with her dad after being in the news as a mafia family. Claire wrote that part as if she and her sister didn't know what was going on and I just found that very unrealistic, as they were teenagers when it all went down. Than Loren comes into the picture and I just didn't feel the chemistry. Could be me, but it felt a bit weird. Cat has strong believes that she doesn't want to be involved with criminal men, but she meets Loren once and all her believes went out the door. Then something bad happens, she's upset... and oh well, let's just have sex... like who would be in the mood then? It just lacked some deeper emotions for me.

I love this author but this book had too many little plot holes.

And I think I have read other mafia books that had a little more research or made more sense for the lifestyle.

The spice was fun but the FMC was too much of a door mat for the MMC and other men in the life. I wish she would have stuck up for herself a bit more and held her ground.
