An interesting introduction to Cynic philosophy, but the stories dragged and it could’ve used a bit of a clearer through line. This is my first read in the series, so I’m not sure if it’s typical.

I had high hopes for this book. Unfortunately it did not live up to it's (very intriguing) name and premise - it read more like a draft than a final copy. However, it's a decent overview of Cynic philosophy and also touches on Cynics beyond Diogenes. Interesting to read these ancient texts in a proper translation. But without any context it’s just a curiosity. And I have some questions about why some of these texts were included. The focus is a bit too much on the ascetism part of classical cynicism, if you ask me.
