Seeing the TV series come out recently spurred me on to finally pick this up. One of my favourite authors and she delivers every time.

Her books are always a slow burn and really focus on character develop so you truly believe and become emotionally attached to the characters.

I really liked the writing style and flicking between Then and Now and also the different in writing tense. Really clever and easy to read.

This book certainly ramped up at the end and the twists kept on coming, most of which I didn't anticipate at all.

A brilliant book and despite the amazing setting of the Philippines and ocean it still doesn't make me want to set foot on a boat! (I have a severe fear of water and boats and get motion sickness even in a car!)

I really enjoyed Lucy Clarke's previous two books (The Sea Sisters and A Single Breath) and so I was really looking forward to reading her latest book and it didn't fail to disappoint! I love the way that the author describes the scenery of her books so well that you can almost visualise and smell the areas and scents that she describes in her book.

The story, although it had timeline switching was easy to follow and I enjoyed the story as it kept me guessing throughout.

I can't wait for her next book!
