Néomi & Conrad are my FAVORITE IAD couple. I love how she slowly starts to pull Conrad from his madness and he tries so hard for her because he wants to be good for her.

Hands down this is my favorite book of the series so far. This book was beautiful. Getting to know Conrad and Néomi was so fascinating. Especially so watching them fall in love within the bounds of not being able to physically touch. God, the chemistry between them was nuts. They were so good for one another. I loved watching Néomi pull him from the brink and bring him back to life even without the whole blooded aspect which does that quite literally. She had such faith in him and his ability to fight the bloodlust. She also forced him to see there was more to life than vengeance and hatred if he would just look to the future.

I absolutely adored the heroine Néomi. I loved her spirit (no pun intended) and inner strength. She refused to give up the fight and despite being a ghost had such a will to live and despite to grab any happiness she could that it was impossible not to love her. Her attitude at being a ghost and her humor was so endearing.

The hero Conrad was definitely painted the villain by all accounts. But it was an illusion. When you learn his entire life history before being turned into a vampire by his brother Nikolai it all becomes so much clearer. He hated vampires before becoming one and so to become one without having a say in the matter by your own brother...no wonder he was so angry! And to sprinkle in all those other issues he had going for him. I truly felt for him and the hatred he held onto for so many years. I could easily see how he became who he did.

The plot continues to roll on and fascinate me. I'm so curious now about so many things.

Scratches that romance itch!

It’s a slow burn because he is a vampire and SHE IS A GHOOOOST

Fun tropes: HE’s the virgin? They’re BOTH rich?! Did I mention she is a GHOST!!? It’s loooooooove!

Cole loves her tall guys and tiny women. She fleshes out the world and other characters nicely. There are plenty of enormous men and minuscule women to go around in this series.
