Enjoyable sequel but not as enjoyable as Aztec. Still, highly recommended.

This is the successor to Jenning's tour de force, Aztec. In Aztec Autumn Mixtli's (Aztec's protagonist) illegimate son decides to war against the Spaniards now settling the New World. With a mixture of new world wit and old world ingenuity, the war which ensues is not only catastrophic for both sides but also a test of fortitude for both the defenders and their opponents. Tight, tense and delivering punches in the right places-Aztec Autumn is a worthy heir to its predecessor.

I didn't enjoy this sequel as much as Aztec. There was a significant amount of time between when I read this and the original, that may or may not have played a part in my enjoyment of this book.

Not as good as Aztec, but then that's a very tall order.
