Quick, easy summer read. Second chance romances aren’t my favorite troupe and I can’t say I love multiple timelines but I enjoyed this book. I’m not sure I’m fully on the train of childhood loves rekindle in their 30s books. I have mixed feelings about the plot and YET, I didn’t put this book down. There was a little bit of spice and my heart was definitely racing at moments.

Okay so I have mixed feelings about this one. I read "Every Summer After" before "Love and Other Words". I saw a lot of people comparing the two, and now that I've read the latter, I definitely agree there are some glaring similarities that are a little sus. Overall though, both stories were just okay to me. Not amazing but not horrible either.

I just read "Same time next summer" and it feels like it's the same plot just with a lake instead of a beach/ I'll save this for next summer

I don't know what it is about this book, but it tore my heart out, and that alone makes it a 5 star. I know there is some problematic things that happen between Percy and Sam - but love, especially young love, is messy and their relationship showed it. I loved the flashback chapters of seeing their friendship blossom, and the author did a great job at really immersing you in the setting. The twist was painful to read, and I almost knocked it down a 1/2 star for that, but this is a book I know will stick with me for a while. It's not the perfect book, but it definitely gave me all the vibes I was looking for at the current moment.

I would give this more of a 3.75

I really did enjoy this book. I thought the flashbacks were adorable and loved Percy and Sam so much. I did find Sam so frustrating and his communication so off that he didn’t deserve Percy. The secret was a bit of a shock but honestly Sam needed to be better. I wanted to scream and throw the book because they both couldn’t communicate anything.
