A slim novel served in bites that leaves you wanting some snips here and there, and wanting more everywhere else. If only to have ghosts of impressive women haunt all the self-absorbed old white schmucks out there! If I were more impressive, I'd wish for such an afterlife for myself. Instead, I'll wish there was more interaction between the characters, rather than the series of monologues that make up the majority of the book. I'm sure everything here alludes to something else, many things I missed; it's that smart a little book. In any case, it's a delightful, quick-witted interlude from your big, serious, often sleep-inducing tomes, if a bit tidy at the end.
