Ranked Book 10 (out of 15) of my holiday reads - August 2019

Such a cute and loveable book - 4*

I do like this series and I'll definitely be reading the next two immediately because I am interested in how Hooper's life is going to turn out and what's going on with the quest.

This book definitely hits its target audience of 9- 13 year olds and sometimes it feels like I'm missing out because if I was that age, I might have loved it. But I'm not and I don't. I just like it. I think it's too close to Riordan's series for me to ever fully love this series. I always think well that could be fleshed out and the gods really wouldn't act like that but it's children's fiction so for what it sets out to be, it does well.

Just an overall nice read.

Well, in the second book of Maz Evans series we find out that it is not only QEII that has an interesting skill set, the rest of the royal family has certain aptitudes and attitudes. Nice to know that everyone enjoys a good BBQ.

We follow Elliot in his quest for the rest of the Chaos Stones, but he has more than just Thanatos to deal with, Nyx the mother of Thanatos and Hypnos has decided it is time to intervene and she is a whole level more dangerous than anything Elliot and friends have faced before.

We also find out more about Elliot’s dad and the circumstances that have led him not to be around and this is one of the saddest parts of this instalment.

Elliot is joined by the usual gods and constellations in this adventure, but there are more heroic characters being explored throughout.

Neighbours and smelly History teachers are still around but with a devious twist.

Another emotional rollercoaster of an adventure with lots of humour and great characters.

These are so cute, funny and occasionally sad but poignant books.
