very whimsical tone, like when ur reading u get the sense that ur in an intermediary area between dreams and reality? that sounds weird but you’ll get it if u read it! obviously lorde fans will like, but i would say on the first read don’t listen to album at the same time, u shouldn’t force the symbolism ykkk

I feel like I need to listen to Lorde's Melodrama to get the full impact of this volume. The poems are very visceral and imaginative. Very powerful imagery.

when i was very little i had an imaginary friend
which is the closest i’ve ever been to a real one

raw and yet oddly dreamy. it's literally a chapbook full of poems based on songs from lorde's melodrama . it brings together my 2 favorite things: lorde and poetry. that poem i just quoted? literally what i did with my shadows as a child. this was everything.
