i’m going feral this is so good. this book doesn’t even come close to the second book slump that usually happens in a series. you get a deeper look into the characters and i loved getting more of ronan’s perspective. the stakes increase perfectly to keep the reader interested, and the mystery is developed in such a loving and intentional way. that’s honestly one of my favourite traits in any book: having the details woven in with a purpose in mind. everything builds upon everything else to create a unique setting, characters and story. i love u maggie stiefvater let me live in your brain

This book wasn't as gripping as the first one, but I still liked it nonetheless. I felt like The Dream Thieves lacked necessary detail and that caused me to get a little confused at some parts of this book - if Maggie took it a little slower and perhaps made some parts clearer it would have been more fun to read. However, I did really like reading about the characters - I love Blue, Gansey and Ronan so much!! I'm so glad Blue finally told Adam she doesn't want him lmao. I'm excited to see where the next book goes.

Ronan's secret is he is able to steal things from his dreams and bring them into reality and readers know this already. A fun paranormal concept and I enjoyed the story enough, but... but... the main characters of The Raven Boys are mostly put on the back-burner. Sure, they are in this novel but everything that is great about the first book... their search for Glyndŵr, the ley-line mysteries, character connections and the prophecy surrounding Blue and Gansey did not develop much and the first book was not overstated paranormal like The Dream Thieves.
Here it's pure paranormal action. It's all about dreamer Ronan Lynch, his nemesis Kavinsky and the appearance of The Gray Man who is on a treasure hunt for the Graywaren. The dream sequences are vivid, but I still got confused a few times and had to reread a few previous paragraphs to be sure Ronan was either in reality or dream. Adam does develop further in this book and in a curious and possibly unsettling way... yet his whining about being poor grated on me. Still loving the sisterhood of clairvoyants at 300 Fox Way.
One hell of a cliffhanger ending will have me reading more in the series. I hope the next book takes us back to more of Gansey, Blue and even Noah. I liked this outing enough but I wasn't itching to get to the finish line.

i love this book, but sometimes the narrator in the audio version annoys me, especially when he pronounces Niall as Neil
