I rate it amongst the leaders of the pack. This classic, perhaps, lent to the naming of one of my favorite books, Into The Wild... or, perhaps not, but there remains one parallel: people today have very strong and, [seemingly] most often, negative feelings toward the content. At these terse rebukes and ill-conceived criticisms I, too, am tempted to answer the call. #readingrainbow #seeya

I really enjoyed my time with each of these stories. I think one of my only gripes with each is I wish they had a bit more to them, especially Call Of the Wild.

As a dog lover and owner, I really felt for each and was engaged with their struggles, obstacles, and stories.

These two books are the best to have ever been written.

Listening to these two classics back to back was an experience in itself. Call of the Wild is set during the Klondike Gold Rush and tells the story of Buck, a dog who is stolen from his family and shipped off to be a sled dog. This harsh environment shapes him, allowing him to embrace his wild side. In White Fang, a wolf takes the opposite journey. At first starting out as feral, he finds an owner who can domesticate him.

Both of these stories has some real hard to listen to scenes, but it was all for the sake of the story. The plot was real and sound. Even though the main characters were dogs, the author had a way of writing to keep you hooked in. Easy to see why these are classics.

Narration was okay.

This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.
