i’ve been meaning to start this series so that i always have a mindless whodunit i can plow thru in a few days. book 1 is not the movie, if anyone is interested. the movies are based on books much deeper in the series. Jack isn’t a super badass in this until the third act, but it still was fun to binge. 3.5/5

I couldn't finish this. I don't know how anyone can read this narrator. As I was reading along, I actually took a few pictures of the pages to prove to my friends that I wasn't exaggerating: the main guy. really talks. like this.

Here is an actual excerpt:
"One was perhaps three inches taller than the other. Perhaps fifteen pounds heavier. A couple of years older. The smaller woman looked petite in comparison. Better looking. She had longer, lighter hair. Nicer eyes behind the glasses."

OMG. SHUT UP. I can't even with the incomplete sentences. Not to mention the narrator is a total cliché. He's ex military, stereotypical macho badass guy that instantly starts sleeping with the hottest woman in town. Zzzz.

No, thank you. Bye.

Gritty, fast paced, and loads more to read. A good palate cleanser between heavy reads. I am sure I will go back for more.

I really enjoyed it. Interesting characters very good plot and a quick read. The main character is unusual but will usually go over his decision to make a logical point. The story also has you guessing and has great reveals to your questions.

Really 4.5 stars, and the only reason it took me this long to read is because of life being very hectic at the moment (in a good way! lol) and the nice weather we are starting to get which means reading time has been limited. In any case, highly recommend this book and will definitely continue reading the series. Jack Reacher is a highly likeable character, the book is fast paced and very well written. I can't say I was bored at any point.
