Not my fave of this series but still an enjoyable M-M hockey romance. Age gap/silver fox and newly-acting-on-bisexuality tropes are always fun as well.

Even taking into account that age-gap romances aren't a thing I'm specifically interested in, this was not up to the same level of quality as the other works in this series so far.

The only conflict, for the entire book, is the age gap. Eric's personal arc about his retirement is fine, but it's a footnote to the age gap. Kyle's trauma related to the scandal in his hometown would have been a lot more compelling if he actually weren't constantly (as he describes) falling for older men who he knew were bad for him; if Eric were the first older man he had developed feelings for since the incident, I think the story would have been stronger, but as it stands, Eric is just another bad decision for him for most of the length of the novel.

The sex is hot (and noticeably kinkier than in other pairings from Reid so far, but nowhere near the kinkiest I've ever read) and I don't dislike Eric or Kyle, but I do dislike how repetitive the plot becomes when the only thing really keeping these two apart is the age gap.

I enjoyed this one but the ending was a bit underwhelming! I had a great time though!

3.5 It was sweet, hot, slow-paced, bit repetitive, kind of lacking drama romance, the main conflict was resolved too easily, obviously, not the favorite part of the series, yet looking forward to the next book.

it is extremely easy to see that i have a midterm tomorrow because i read this in a day. oops.
fine. i felt like i was missing some stuff? ilya keeps showing up and being an asshole, i love him. also he and shane are not subtle in the slightest lol. this was pretty good, but not super memorable. also i couldn't always tell whose POV it was and that annoyed me
