I thought this book was really funny and great banter. The story itself was really interesting, which kept me reading, especially from the start of the story.

This book was a lighthearted, classic enemies-to-lovers romcom. While the trope isn’t typically my favorite, I did enjoy it overall as an easy read. It definitely went slow at first, but it picked up toward the end. I absolutely loved the tropical setting, so that helped me get into it a lot more. However, once Olive and Ethan got back to Minnesota, I didn’t enjoy it as much.
Olive being complacent with Ethan calling her a liar about Dane, and easily forgiving him in less than 5 sentences really rubbed me the wrong way. After that moment, I couldn’t get behind their romance as much.
Not to mention, there were some cheesy lines, and the whole “arguing with each other” thing and calling one another the wrong name started to get old. Compared to other, newer books by Christina Lauren, this didn’t quite meet the bar for me. But, it was an easygoing summer read that did have a lot of good qualities as well.

Funny enemies to lovers relationship. Character growth on both sides. Secondary plot takes over last third of book.

Tiene “enemies to lovers”, he fell first, fake dating, de todoooo.

I liked parts of this but the male characters were kind of horrible.

The writing style took some time to get used to b/c the mc talks with parenthesis and kind of breaks the fourth wall. I also was so stressed about
Ethan not believing that Dane hit on Olive and the whole rant Ami had when Olive told her that Dane had been cheating on her
that I literally stayed up until 2am to finish the book and get through it. I don’t like that there was no resolution or real conversation between Olive and Ami or Ethan and Olive. I also think it was weird how
Ethan and Olives relationship went from hating each other to in love within 5 days .
the tension was good but I feel like the characters and the story lacked depth. Also wtf was the whole plotline with the Hamiltons???? Like that one scene when
Olive got fired was so weird and then when they ran into each other at the restaurant and the wife was mad at Hamilton? Like why would Molly be mad about anything related to his business and also idk how i feel about Olive getting fired.
I also don’t love when there’s so much tension  and then they close the door in adult romances but whatever.
