I was going to give this three stars because it’s a solid story and pretty well written, but ended up going with four because it was genuinely a feel-good read, and if Olive has taught me anything it’s that I can’t be a pessimist my whole life.

There were a few unrealistic parts, but they weren’t done in an overtly annoying way so I let it slide. Happy endings all around, good resolutions for all main characters, and I’m always a sucker for families showing affection through food based support. Four stars is still pretty generous for me, and probably based more on the timing of the month I happened to read this in, but it was an easy, fun, and light “romance” (VERY light romance) to binge on a few rainy days.

This is a cute little romance. It's about two people who dislike each other forced into a vacation together where they realize, of course, that they do like each other. That part is predictable and spoiled by the book synopsis. It avoids some of the unhealthy relationship elements that get packaged as "romantic" and I appreciated the ways the characters developed. It has its cheesy parts but also some genuinely beautiful moments. A fun little escape read that didn't require deep thought.

I read this in one sitting and could not put it down! I loved the characters and the entire plot. the entire book flowed so well and I didn’t find myself bored at all. It was funny and emotional. I was smiling through out and didn’t want it to end.

3.5 stars! This was just the sort of hate to love contemporary I was looking for. Super cute and steamy with the right amount of drama intermixed.

I think this was a really cute story, and I love the enemies to lovers trope, but I could not stand when Ethan was told that his brother was a pos. I get that they are siblings and everything, but that seemed unrealistic to me. If someone told me that a family member was being an awful person to the one that they allegedly loved, I wouldn’t assume the person who told me is lying

Reading this a second time around and although I still love this book like crazy I had a few problems. The first half of the book is hilarious and has so much tension. But towards the second half, it starts to fall flat. I found myself getting bored and Ethan wasn't as alluring as he was in the first half. Knocking off one star from my original rating.

This was such a fun read!!!! I see myself rereading this on lazy summer days. I loved how funny the characters are and how unbelievably good the chemistry is. This had all the tropes I love to death:
enemies to lovers, fake dating, guy secretly liked you all along but you didn't know but now that you know you feel all the feels. I highly recommend this book.

⭐️3.5 Stars⭐️
After reading this book I’ve realized that I’m not a big fan of hate-to-love romances, which unfortunately reflects in my rating.
I didn’t enjoy the constant struggle of Olive and Ethan’s relationship (throughout most of the book), their constant arguing drove me crazy. And Ami, Olive’s sister, constantly seeing the bad in Olive also got old. But what I did enjoy was Olive’s large family, how they stuck together and loved each other. I feel like this book captured the unity of a large Hispanic family, and I loved that.
Once the feelers started coming out, my reading experience got better. Ethan really is a good guy, despite his blind faith in his horrible brother, and I think he’s a great match for Olive, even though her constant need to see the bad in people was less than Ethan deserved. The proposal at the end felt weak, even though it was supposedly “perfect for who they are”. I was hoping for a much bigger bang than what I received.
In all I thought this was an ok book. I didn’t struggle through it but I just wish there was more in the romance department because the little we got was beautiful.

Update: changed my mind, 5 stars cause I want to read it again and again and again and agaaaaaaain!

2nd read: Ahhh still sooo good and still 4 stars! I'm being real selfish with the 5 star rating, I need something to BLOW my mind!

1st: First of all, not enough people are talking about how weird it is that this book is about a brother and sister in law falling in love! I can't be the only one who finds this totally sick, like yes this isn't incest cause they aren't blood related but come on! Now you're wondering, why did you give this 4 stars then
