I guess I'm feeling a little bit soppy. I'm not really into this style of book usually. I prefer an escape into what's not real and like to pretend the real world is far far away.
However, Trent Dalton writes with so much humanity and makes you feel like every story is connected in some sort of way. He makes you think and appreciate the love stories you have. I finished the book with things in my personal life falling apart around me, and while this book wasn't an escape (something I would usually prefer) it was a safe way to reflect on how I was feeling and the love I have in my heart (and the pain that comes with it).
