Není to jen jednodušše antiváleční hra, která zaznamenává zbytečnost umírání za vlast a za politiku, ale je to i studie lidí, a co je dovede zlomit z jednoho postoje do jiného a nelogického. Konec mě totálně zdrtil, i když jsem to čekala. Čapek byl génius své doby, který dokázal předpovědět sesyp světa po jeho smrti. Přečetla jsem to za 2 dny. Také se mi líbila ta kreativita, celá hra se odehrála jen v jednom pokoji, i přes to, že vystihla mnoho dob a míst. Nakonec je čtenář (nebo divák) překvapen změnou postoj k válce matky, která na světě zůstala nakonec sama. Je to stále aktuální dodnes, a myslím s lítostí na všechny ztracené životy v dnešních válkách.

This book didnt seem to be as entertaining as other Čapek’s books. But man was I wrong. The ending just got me. Such a great book.
