Read this while quite ill from surgery complications and am very pleased at how engaging and distracting this installment in the series was. I am enraptured yet again by the amount of thought put into the lore. Seriously, it is put together so well that, despite what seems logical, I grow addicted like I did with the City of Masks series. I am obviously immediately diving right into the River God now.

I listen to the audio and wow what a fantastic continuation of the previous novel. Never certainly is a little cocky but who wouldn’t with a blood curse and a raging fever.

Not, perhaps, as fast-paced as the first book, but I don't mind as it's still a good read. I could really feel the weight of Never's sickness dragging him down and the Bakar! Omg, such a monster! The leeches, too. *shudder*
Loved Harstas and his comeuppance. It's truly my kind of ending for people like that. I can barely wait to find out what Snow's been up to.
