This was a great book. I think it would be a hit with many reluctant readers. Each section is short, informative and to the point. There is a great mix of facts (some of which I didn't even know) and gore!

Slightly sarcastic, sometimes humorous look at the death of famous people. There is a lot of information packed in this little book.

What better book for someone with gallows humor than a book about how some of the most famous people in history died. This book explores the down and dirty of some of the most famous people in history, and one in particular is why I chose it for this month. This being my March review I thought it fitting to read a book that talked about Julius Caesar’s death. Beware the Ides of March my friends. Georgia Bragg completed extensive research to complete this book and it shows. She not only talks about the aforementioned peoples’ deaths but their lives as well, probably including some lesser known facts. She even went to the trouble of putting in a diagram at the end showing how some of the people were connected, some of them might surprise you.

Cute book. Would be a good way to make history more interesting for kids.

A little gross but overall, engaging, funny, and interesting! Exactly what I was looking for when searching for a middle grade nonfiction book that doesn’t read like a textbook. I only wish there had been more people or a little more mention of the genocides Christopher Columbus was behind. Alas! The kids loved this when I read the introduction and King Henry & Court’s typical day of eating facts.

I come across the most interesting books while working at the library.

A look at how a handful of famous people in history died, and not a very glamorous one. The book is not for those with weak stomachs. There are gross details about boils and puss, bodies practically exploding after death, beheadings, and blood-letting. Aimed for teenagers, with a bit of humor, a nice albeit gross, look at history, fascinating trivia and of course, slightly gruesome deaths,
