In this P&P variation, the Gardiners and Elizabeth Bennet are travelling in Derbyshire when they are set upon by highwaymen. This results in them being rescued by Darcy and spending time at Pemberley. The path to their happy ending is not smooth. But what of Lydia's visit to Brighton, how will that effect them.
An enjoyable variation

This is a P&P variation where Lizzie doesn't run into Mr Darcy at Pemberley but rather their carriage gets attacked by highwaymen and not the dashing kind you get in romance novels. They are saved but Lizzie is put in an awkward situation (for the time) which results in Darcy asking her to marry him.

Misunderstandings galore! Some of them were entertaining and some of them were annoying, but a big plus of this book was how it dealt with Lydia and Wickham.
SpoilerLydia not believing Lizzie until Wickham is going to let them kill Lizzie is just very IC for Lydia, considering how young and impetuous she is.
I also really liked how Georgiana was involved, it really gave her a chance to shine and I really liked how the main conflict was resolved.

For the action parts, I think I would give this book 4 stars and for the romance parts 3 stars. It was an enjoyable variation but I'm glad it was on Kindle unlimited.

3.5 stars!

I saw this book sitting in my KU list, pulled it up to read it...and it was already sitting at 100%. As I looked at some other reviews, it all sounded very familiar. So basically, I've read this book sometime this year, but I don't recall when or exactly what I thought of it, other than a vague idea that I liked it. Leaving the rating blank for the sake of fairness, and maybe one day I'll read it again and be able to review in more detail.

(Yes, I know, I'm a slacker. Sorry.)
