Even though it's categorized as fiction, the author claims it's autobiographical.

This is the story of an occidental but Japanese-born girl who returns to Japan to work after spending many years living in Belgium. Worth reading to understand the differences between the two worlds.

 En Estupor y temblores Amélie nos da un vistazo a la vida laboral y la cultura japonesa. Podemos encontrar en su texto esa energía de querer hacer todo en el primer trabajo, el acoplamiento y respeto con otra cultura, la introspección y la manera en la que dejamos que las cosas nos afecten.

Amélie escribe de una manera atrapante juntando el autoanálisis, lo onírico y lo cómico, y aun así logra que sientas una cercanía con lo relatado.

No puedo decir que lo he amado y que me cambio la vida pero me divirtió leerlo y también por momentos me genero rabia hacia sus superiores. Es un libro que se lee (escucha en mi caso) super rápido y que si eres adulto y ya has tenido un burn out en el trabajo entonces encontraras similitudes con tu vida.
