I would find it unbelievable if it was a fictional story but it is a nonfiction tale. I do wonder how Down is right now.

Aside from Damaged this is my other favorite Cathy Glass book. I enjoy reading these true heart warming stories of these children who have been through so much.

A beautiful tragedy, my heart goes out to all children in a less than perfect situation. Cathy Glass raises awareness in matters that are to often ignored or overlooked.

Another worth reading - Cathy Glass should be awarded for her fostering like so many other foster parents out there.

It was such a great book and could be relateable to so many teenagers and it is so inspirational for those kids who feel like they cannot talk to anybody. This book shows how a girl's life changed for the better because she opened up so it could be a message to someone who is scared to open up. The story was really really good and I am excited to read more of this author's books.

I absolutely love Cathy Glass as usual. She allows you to discover in depth the difficulty of children living in foster care.
The details and the conversations in this book just make you realise what these kids go through.

The cover features a little book, Cathy Glass always chooses to have a child on the front cover, it adds realism to the story and makes you know that the story is a true story.
I really appreciate Cathy giving us so many details and bringing us along with her throughout her journey.
I've never been disappointed by Cathy and she writes perfectly.

This book was both lovely and difficult to read. When I picked it up, I was unsure about reading it, assuming that it would be too dark, graphic and miserable. But after reading it, I am now happy that whilst the story doesn't sugar-coat anything, it is a story of strength.

Decent read, although not particularly written with any attempt at enticing the reader. The premise of it is founded in truth which I guess is enough for some people when reading, but much of the book seemed to be repetitive filler of snippets regarding the behavioral problems and less about character development. Furthermore, while Dawn does have some desire to connect with her mother, I wouldn't say she was desperate to be part of a family.

TW: Self-Harm
I was aware from the title this would have self-harm content but some of Cathy's language was especially triggering so read when in the right headspace
