Classic cowboy pulp, this is a western that is sure to please. Much of the story seemed fairly predictable, although the author relates the story in an easygoing style that almost makes the pages turn by themselves.
While many of the characters are only a shade above one-dimensional, the story is the focus here, and it continues to grind at a steady pace from page one all the way to the finish. There is a mystery here, one that our here, Tip Woodring, needs to solve in order to earn the money that has been promised to him. Along the way the author drops just enough clues to keep the reader guessing until the end. For those who like action, there are more fistfights and gunfights than you can shake a stick at.
Recommended to all who enjoy westerns, mysteries, and great adventure yarns.
