This is a lovely story about friends Bramble (hedgehog) and Teasel (mouse). When winter approaches Bramble hibernates and Teasel misses his friend all the time. Teasel creates a book for Bramble all about winter to show him what it’s like. This would be a great book to use with children when learning about the seasons and hibernation. Children could create their own books describing the different seasons and what animals hibernate over winter and why. I think many children would also relate to how Teasel is feeling, missing his friend after experiencing a similar thing through lockdown this year. This could be a good book to encourage discussion about how you feel when you don’t see your friends. I would use this book to base lessons around in KS1 or as a read aloud book for KS1/FS.
