One minute Mary DiNunzio is celebrating with her friends and co-workers at her office baby shower and the next she is worried that her law firm and everything she personally owns will be taken from her. She and the other two partners in the firm, Judy Carrier and Bennie Rosato the founding partner, are being sued for discrimination by three male lawyers claiming they didn't get hired by the firm simply because they're men. The partners and associates at the firm have always been like a family, but a few people have been keeping secrets that when exposed, could ruin friendships and mean the end of the firm. Just when it looks like things couldn't get worse, a murder occurs that hits very close to home.

"Feared" is the sixth book in the "Rosato & DiNunzio" series, which follows ten previous books with the same characters in the "Rosato & Associates" series. Mary has long been my favorite character in both series and it's great to see her taking center stage in this installment. The title of the book refers to the question of whether it's better to be loved or feared. Mary has always wanted to be loved and her reputation, family, and friends means everything to her which is why the character is so easy to like. When her old nemesis, Nick Machiavelli, comes back with a vengeance leading this vindictive lawsuit against the firm, Mary hates the things he is saying about her personally and how it affects her clients. However, Mary has a hidden strength which could strike some fear into the arrogant Machiavelli. I love when Mary shows that just because she's a nice person, it doesn't mean she's a pushover. In this book, she proves when people and things she holds dear are in danger, she can be just as fierce as Bennie.

This novel is a little different than the others because not only are Mary, Bennie, and Judy helping clients, but they're also defending themselves. The opposing counsel, Machiavelli, is so despicable in his attack against Rosato & DiNunzio that some of the scenes are hard to get through. However, the best part of these books is how Bennie, Mary, and Judy pull together when there is a crisis and there are plenty of those in this book, some a matter of life and death. There are some truly sad and touching moments in the book, especially between Mary and her best friend Judy.

The author keeps you guessing about who the murderer is and what the motive is. The last few chapters range from fun, surprising, scary, shocking, and heartwarming. This novel can be enjoyed equally by ongoing fans of the series and new readers and I would rate it as 4.5 stars.

I received this book from NetGalley through the courtesy of St. Martin's Press. The book was provided to me in exchange for an honest review.

Fun book as always by Scottoline. In book six, the firm is being sued for reverse sexual discrimination, but it's not what it seems. Enjoyable and quick book.

It wasn't amazing but I liked it fine. It had enough twists, plus I loved the setting. But I didn't love the main characters..

As soon as I read the synopsis of this book I knew I had to read it. I've enjoyed reading Lisa Scottoline for years now and she never disappoints.

This book brings back Mary DiNunzio and Bennie Rosato who are in the middle of their firms biggest case yet. At the same time the firm is hit with a reverse sexual discrimination case when three men claim they weren't hired on, because they were males. To make matters worse, they're one male employee quits because he feels there may be some truth to the case. Nick Machiavelli returns as the plaintiff's lawyer and after already losing to Mary once, he's back with a vengeance.

I really enjoyed this book as I have always enjoyed Lisa Scottoline's novels. The Rosato and DiNunzio books have always been my favorite. Perfect amount of mystery with plenty of comedy thrown in.

Thank you so much to Netgalley and St. Martins Press for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

What is shocking about the events here is how vindictive a single soul can be towards others. The three lawyers suing the firm of are represented by none other than Nick Machiavelli, who, after losing to Mary DiNunzio once before, declared vengeance on her. Well, his time has come, and boy, has he a doozy planned. And, not only does the team face this lawsuit, they stand a chance at losing a huge anti-trust suit they've been working on. Machiavelli just might win.

I really enjoyed this sixth book in the series. Facing a reverse discrimination case that could destroy the marvelous law firm of Rosato & DiNunzio is the initial story in this book. But when there is a murder connected with the firm, well, things take on a very different edge. A very pregnant Mary as well as her team work hard to keep the firm on its feet, whiling bringing justice to the murdered victim.

I have binge read this series, from Accused, all the way through to this title, Feared, with just a short break between books. However, these last four I read pretty much back-to-back. I literally could not help myself. As with all of the previous titles, I read this book straight through in just a couple of sittings. Lisa Scottoline has an exclusive style of writing these legal thrillers. She presents ongoing characters that mean something to me, interesting plots and fabulous twists and turns, with always stunning conclusions. Feared is no exception and I am almost sorry that I have caught up with the series! Unfortunately, this series is produced yearly, and I have a long wait to go for another installment. However I have amassed a small library of some of her other titles to keep me busy.

Many thanks to St. Martins Press and to NetGalley for this ARC to review; this is my honest opinion.

I really love this series, it’s so easy to read. For me, the characters are super likable though they sometimes make choices that make me shake the book in frustration. That makes the characters real though, doesn’t it? The trial focused on in this book was a whirlwind for sure. I certainly had my suspicions but ultimately I was surprised. I’m down rating by a star because of how many obvious typos I found.

Bennie, Mary, Judy and the gang are back with another Philly-based legal thriller. Fans of the Tonys and Evil Nick will be happy because there are plenty of appearances by fave side characters. Keep ‘em coming, Lisa!! Thank you Net Galley for allowing me to preview this book and review it!
