While this was cool and very interactive, I'm very grateful that I just checked it out from the library, because there's no way on God's green Earth that this book is worth $50.

I'm one of Sedaris' biggest fans and I appreciate all the time it takes him to make this diaries. I also appreciate how visual they are, but I just feel mehh about this whole book.

(3.5) A really immersive and interesting look the decades of diaries Sedaris has kept with some funny snippets of entries. I love that this book exists and if I absolutely idolized Sedaris, it would be one I'd want to own!

If I had a coffee table, I'd get this book.
As it is, I'll keep it from the library for a bit, so my girls can see it over the holidays, they'll love it. One of them is a collector of stuff, as David Sedaris was/is, and this may inspire her (or else she'll clean her house).
If you enjoy his essays you will likely enjoy seeing & hearing some history & creation. I knew he had been writing diaries for years and to see the bizarre covers is interesting.

I love anything to do with this man and this is no exception - really well put together and really surprising! I had no idea he was so arty in his approach to journalling and the collages and the stuff he collected and thought to put in the collages was really interesting!
