Ever since I came across the TV Tropes page for this book, I've been wanting to read it. So when I finally got my hands on a copy, I read it right away. In terms of content and learning value, I give this a 3. I think I got more from reading [b:Reading Like a Writer: A Guide for People Who Love Books and for Those Who Want to Write Them|39934|Reading Like a Writer A Guide for People Who Love Books and for Those Who Want to Write Them|Francine Prose|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1335367374s/39934.jpg|1435619]. But this gets an extra star for the humorous examples and overall tone of the book.

It was a fantastic book that humorously pointed out all the flaws of poorly written novels. I actually read this in conjunction with a creative writing class and we covered a lot of what was in this book. if you want to write well and learn a few tips, I definitely suggest this book. it's all the information of a textbook with the freedom and ease of a comedic novel.

Awesome, hilarious book that did exceptionally well telling you all the ways to keep your book from getting published.

Enjoyable even if you are not a writer, but a reading enthusiast. Excellent advice for writers, and perhaps if more editors read this book, fewer terrible novels would be published.

I remember this book being funny, but not what any of its authors’ advice (or anti-advice) was. But then, I don’t believe you can really learn how (not) to write from a book—you have to do it. When you’re taking a break from that, though, this book is good for a laugh.

(English book, so why not an English review?)

Very interesting book regarding tips for writing novel.
The book quite literally gives you tips on how to write a bad, unpublishable novel. The authors say that it's very hard to give tips on how to do it right, as this is a very subjective thing. They can however tell you what will make your book unpublishable.

A very witty handbook for writers with funny examples on not so funny mistakes.

A light, humorous book that manages to have some useful writing advice at the same time, with examples for each. Probably won't teach an experienced writer anything they don't already know, but a fun read nonetheless.
