I liked this book. I found the premise interesting to say the least. It was an interesting read.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS BOOK. even the story takes a while to pick up... it gets there. it's a beautiful story of healing and redemption, and learning not to run from the the things life throws at you. and if you do run, how to find your way back, and that it's not easy. it also shows the sides to people that you may never want to see, and what money can do to those who abuse it. but mainly i loved this book because it differs so much from everything else she writes. instead of it being a suspense type novel with a love story, it's vice versa. it's a love story with a bit of suspense, but not so much that you can't sleep at night.

big TWO THUMBS up (if i had more, i'd use them)

I have to admit, I really didn't like this book to much. The writing was sub par and the characters were just so damn annoying at times that I wanted to chuck the book across the room. The plot is stupid, in my oppinion. It's starts off telling a little bit about what happened prier to the story. High school student, Brooke Martin, and her art teacher, Nick Marcello, were accused of having an affair by some stuck up bitch, Abby Hemphill, who has nothing else better to do but make other people's lives miserable. So Brooke (who was eighteen at the time by the way, so even if the two were having an affair it's not like it's illegal. The girl was eighteen for God's sake) decides that she's going to be a big girl and run away from Hayden, the little town they live in, instead of facing up to the "scandal." Anyway, fastfoward a few years, and Nick has been hired to make some stained-glass windows for St. Mary's church, and he asks Brooke to help him. So Brooke agrees, but head bitch Abby isn't so pleased by this so she tries all she can to sabotage the two. I seriously rolled my eyes at that. I mean, they're friggin' stained-glass windows. Plus, I don't get why Brooke and Nick being together is so taboo. They are both grown ass adults, they can do whatever the hell they want.

I hated all the characters. Every single last one of them. Especially Brooke's and Nick's parents. At one point Nick's mom, sister, and brother-in-law get piss angry and him 'cause he's teaching his nephew how to paint. Paint! It's not like the kid's doing drugs or anything.

Look, bottom line is, the book's not bad, but it sure as hell isn't good either. And I strongly recommend not reading it, unless you like being super annoyed.
