Interesting, a little long at the end. The first half was incredible though.

Decisions made in an instant can be good or bad, and most fall somewhere between the two.

“we have, as human beings, a storytelling problem: We’re a bit too quick to come up with explanations for things we don’t really have an explanation for.” (69)

“people are ignorant of the things that affect their actions, yet they rarely feel ignorant. We need to accept our ignorance and say ‘I don’t know’ more often.” (71)

Gladwell writes and researches some pretty great stuff in this book. He takes stereotypes and proves or disproves them with statistics coming up with some very entertaining conclusions. Blink gives great insight on how first impressions really go a long way. Gladwells books in general are fun to read and a good vacation from the usual fiction I read.

The topic of this book was certainly interesting and some parts kept me intrigued but at the end of the day I was forced to read this for AP Psychology. It was mostly boring other than those few parts and it was really all about the same topic with each chapter just reinforcing the author’s reasoning which resulted in repetition.

Idk it was just okay. This is why I stay away from nonfiction and books like this.
