I was not prepared for this series to be so addicting and enjoyable but here we are. I’m addicted. The books just keep getting better.
Quick Synopsis: Frankie is the social media lead for a Southern California hockey team. Autistic and dealing with arthritis, Frankie is happy with her life as is, but finds it gets a bit complicated when she starts developing feelings for the very attractive ginger hockey player, Ren Bergman. When her home is broken into, Frankie stays with Ren to stay safe, but finds that their attraction to one another is one that cannot be overlooked or diminished.
Trigger warnings: parental neglect; social anxiety; prejudice against autistic individuals
What I liked:
-I loved Frankie. She was driven and authentic, someone who continues to try despite hardships. She has her own insecurities and troubles (which we get at the end), but her character was really well developed.
-I love the insta-love trope. I also love the “he’s always loved her trope” and you definitely get those here.
-We get to revisit Willa and Ryder and also get set up for the next novel. Any time I get to revisit other characters, I always love it. Willa and Ryder especially have a special place in my heart.
What I struggled with:
-I could’ve done without the third act breakup, but it did give us some really good free therapy, so I might be more ok with it.
-In the beginning we see Willa again and it’s said that she “doesn’t require any hair products.” Coming from a woman with extremely curly hair, no. Inaccurate. She needs tons of products. All the products.
-Frankie is a Harry Potter fan, which I can appreciate, but some of the things related to her being part of the fandom were a bit too much, even for me.
This was another brilliant addition to the series and one I thoroughly enjoyed.
Note I read this on audiobook and the two narrators were impeccable.

Not Just A Romance
I don't often give give star reviews, but every once in awhile something comes along and knocks you out of the water. This book was one of them. I love hockey and I love romance, so no big surprise I wanted to read this one. But there's so much more - I learned a lot about autistic people and how everyday things we take for granted aren't always easy. I loved the characters and the quirkiness of this book. It's definitely worth a read.
