A very quick read that gives some Silent Hill vibes (and also made me think of The Rust Maidens) before a final reveal you won’t expect. Loved it.

You guys know, that I love short-stories but when they are written really great, I love them even more.

An exceptionally written story that had my attention from the first line until its shocking ending. Did NOT see that end coming at all. Jack Harding knows how to weave a story together.

Absolutely brilliant short story. I did not see the ending coming, and I know I'll be thinking of it for a long time.
Knocked a star off for the blasphemy. Absolutely unnecessary.

‘And then they begin to chant. Onetwothreefour’.
Is it a dream? Is it real? Who even knows. Just get me the hell out of here.
The vivid writing creeped me the f out. To be able to evoke such strong anxiety induced feelings so quickly is a testament to the author.
Do yourself a favour and just read it.

Funnily enough this was the first short story I've read. Like Charlie Patino for Arsenal this was the perfect debut for an author who clearly has the gift.
'React' is very well written and kept me guessing until the end. I sensed subtle undertones of 'The Shining' for instilling fear into the reader.
Jack Harding appears to have a lot more to come and I will immediately move on to 'Driving in The Dark' aswell as read more short stories.
Do any of you have any short story collections you'd recommend?
Easy 5*

Wow!!! This was such a wild ride in such a little book, I loved it! I thought I had it all figured out but it wasn't exactly what I thought! Full of tension and horror I highly reccomend it! The way Jack managed to get so much into this little story was brilliant so I can't wait to see what he does in the future
