Let me start by saying it helps if you read Never Enough first. The characters are carried into this story. This is a friends to lovers story that is so much more. Trent and Darcy are in the band Dirtshine. Since they spend so much time together on performances they become friends. Both have come from troubled childhoods and somewhat relate to each other. Both are attracted to the other but are afraid of ruining their close friendship. As situations happen, Darcy getting burned and Eli getting stabbed, they take the attraction to the next level. This is a very emotional story. Some parts are so heart wrenching, Trent’s back story, that I ended up with tears. This story actually reads more like reality than fiction and I felt attracted to these characters. I highly recommend this book.

I really enjoyed this story. These characters are so well written and they just draw you in from the beginning with their personalities and emotions. Darcy and Trent have both had bad childhoods and have the scars, both inside and outside. They are both a little broken and so while they both have more than friend feelings for the other, they haven't wanted to risk losing what they already have. It means so much to them and is more than they've really ever had before. These two characters really pulled me in and had me engaged from early on. They really make it easy to feel connected to the story. Darcy has a horrible accident on stage and Trent is the one that takes care of her and won't let her push him away. They have to work through some of their issues from the past to figure out their happily ever after. The sex is explicit but there is so much more there because they were best friends first. I loved seeing the two of them together and getting to enjoy it. This story had plenty to keep me engaged and entertained. It was great!

Well after reading the first book and having mixed emotions about it i can say that this author writing style is not for me.

I’m not sure how to rate this, especially because i skimmed a bit in the middle since literally nothing was happening.

The characters were two dimensional and i disliked their personalities, nothing was explained. I mean Darcy was supposed to have this “bad” background , she was in foster care and she sleeped in the top bed while her foster dad molested the girl that was sleeping in the bottom one (?!) . How can you not go further with that? Also what happened to her family?! Did i miss something?

I think Trent really needs an anger management class and should be not be in a relationship before that.

Ps i hated how both of the MC throwed in Gavin’s face the fact that he was an addict. He is clean now so no need to be nasty about it, especially when none of them is a saint.

#2 in series

I suggest reading this series in order!

I enjoyed this book and loved Trent and Darcy. However, I found some inaccuracies that were annoying (but not overly story changing). As with the first books, this story leads into Book 3, so I’m eager to read Liam’s HEA.

I think I've read pretty much all of Roxie Noir's books by now. And I've never been disappointed. I loved Always You.

I adore friends-to-lovers romance and Trent and Darcy's story is one of those ones that you just can't put down. They both have some serious issues in their past, Trent more than Darcy and the way they come through that is wonderful.
But holy crap, the reason this all starts is absolutley insane (in the best way) and it will make your heart hurt. But it exposes how wonderful they are for each other, how much they care and how much they need each other.
Anyway, because they're friends first, it makes for some hilarious moments. They love each other and I love them and it's just amazing

I'm so in love with Darcy and Trent's relationship, they were just so adorable. They were different from what I thought they would be and different from the other books in this series. The friends to lovers trope in this was just so immaculate and I think that it was executed so well. It was definitely a different type of friends to lovers since Darcy and Trent are friends but are completely different from each other. Darcy was such a good character because she really just owned up to herself like she truly didn't give a fuck and I absolutely loved that about her. As far, Trent, he was just such a mysterious alpha male and he was very interesting to read about especially with his own barriers that Darcy had to get through. I just loved them and how Darcy was there for Trent especially at the end when he was going through some things alone.
