Lisbeth Salander is one of my favorite fictional characters, so I had to read this new book as soon as it came out. It was a bit of a slow start but I wasn't disappointed...per usual (like all the other Millennium series books) this was a smart thriller/crime novel that I was almost sad to finish.

The latest book in the series. Not as good at the last book (i would give it a 3.5 stars), it was still enjoyable, if a little predictable in some places.

Było spoko, bez szału, bez większych emocji, ale porządnie napisane i w miarę satysfakcjonujące.

I am not convinced by Lagercrantz's continuation of this series. For me there is an absence of the building thrill in Larsson's books. There are parts of this book which felt like a non fiction on genetic engineering rather than a mystery / thriller. I am not sure i feel inclined to read any more that this author has written I feel as if he is riding on the coat tails of a better author

Great story, great characters...but in a way that is a given from Larsson's creation.
The telling of this particular episode is so flawed that is wound me up with the extent of its silliness. Criminal minds and motivations only good fiction in the right hands. These are the wrong hands. We randomly lurch back and forth in time and, in irritating fashion are given endless detail which assumes the reader has no intelligence at all to intuit motives/thoughts from actions.
My suggestion to publishers would be to stop Millenium now to avoid tarnishing Larsson's legacy

Love getting back to these characters, even under a different writer.
Lisbeth is in prison for previous book saving boy. Lisbeth is in a maximum security prison, serving time for her overly aggressive methods to rescue an autistic child in the Spider Web 4th book. The prison ward is run by a psychotic inmate, who has adopted the name Benito, who is abusing a young Arab, Faria, who has been wrongfully jailed in connection with family honor issues. She sees young girl Faria getting abused by Benito. And guards. Faria Kazi, a Bangladeshi accused of murdering her brother and also the target of a crazed fellow-inmate known as Benito, after Mussolini. The latter is famed for her Keris—the dagger of the Muslim world that she uses to dispatch enemies and to declare them as good as dead. Lisbeth tricks guard and gets into his office and looks up Faria and her past on his computer. Later Lisbeth attacks Benito who is abusing Faria.

Faria back story: fell in love with Jamal, but she was to be married off. Palmer killed pushed in front of train for religious beliefs. Lisbeth helped Faria to get Jamal's killers including Farias brother. And Faria put in protected custody.

Bloomkvist is investigating with Marilyn about Lisbeth, Faria, and Leo and stock exchange. Meanwhile, some old files are given to Lisbeth's former guardian, Holger Palmgren, about the people who experimented on Lisbeth when she was a child,
Polmgrin murdered by 70 yr old woman with burn marks on throats and wears turtleneck. She puts opium patches disguised as a fill in nurse for Lulu.
There are detailed discussions of financial affairs, economic theory, twin behavior, music, journalism and other transient subjects, all fascinating in their own way.
Project nine. Separating twins. Registry Lisbeth was one of them. Leo and Dan. Dan went to an affluent family that didn't love him because of his race. Dan went to a poor family. But they found each other and tried to get back at project 9. Swapped lives and became happy.
Epilogue is Salander at Polmgren's funeral service.
