i’m so attached to these characters and i’m sad this is the last book. i don’t think i loved the mystery as much in this one, but it was cool just because i did feel like it was different from the other books. I think this is my least favorite in the series. However, I think the ending was a perfect end to the series.

happy new year.

what am i doing at new year's time with the final book of a series i have never read or heard about anyway?

the mystery was fine enough, though not as related to Sherlock Holmes as i initially expected.

the final chapter had me slightly shocked by the main character's decision, but again, i do not follow the series. what do i have to say about the decisions of people i barely know?

- is that, you are not the family you are born into, and you do not need to follow a conventional standard of success to be happy. and that, the person who loves you will wait on the pavement, will take exhausting train rides with unread textbooks, and will stay with you even if - even when - you have to run away and abandon everything you know to get to know yourself and heal.

happy new year.

A full in-depth review will be on my book blog.

But this is a good final book. love the more couple-ly Jamie and Charlotte are.

The case itself was meh compared to the other three but it was nice to see the two of them grow up and change.

I'm happy it was in Charlotte's p.o.v because we get to see her emotionally grow and change and find who she is.
