My students enjoyed this book. It was ok to me. I've read better WWII novels.

Absolutely fantastic read by Alan Gratz (again). Started it on my second flight for a trip I was on and had finished half of it by the time I landed. Went to work for a few days where I didn’t have time to read, and finished it on the plane ride home.

Page turning novel that gives viewpoints during WWII that people don’t often get, such as the viewpoint through the eyes of the French people or a medic’s point of view. Additionally loved the viewpoints of a German American and Jewish American fighting the Axis powers.

This wasn’t bad, but I would have preferred it if they finished tying all the stories together. For example, there was one story in it that felt very unfinished, although that story is finished in Resist. I did enjoy that a lot of the stories were tied together, although there were a lot of characters and it was hard for me to keep track of who was who. Other than those small parts I enjoyed it, and I think it is helpful for teaching more about different parts of D-Day.
